This prestigious 150 mile race is run in three 50 mile heats. It attracts mushers from across North America and is one of Canada's most difficult endurance races. In addition, there's a Heritage Race, several youth races, and a weight pull. 1-6 pm each day. Good viewing on Frame Lake, Back Bay and Yellowknife Bay (Dettah ice road).

The other desert race is held annually in our wintry northern capital. Three tough endurance races over rock and ice and through the bush - 55 km Cold Foot Classic, 135 km K-Rock Ultra, 225 km Diamond Ultra. Choose foot & snowshoe or cross country skis, solo or team. Diamond prizes to first place finishers of K-Rock and Diamond Ultra.

The Snowking's Winter Festival runs through the month, with special events each weekend.
